Dusk Studio by Woodes Labs

Terms of Use

Last updated 20 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Woodes Labs, which runs Dusk Studio ("Dusk"). By using Dusk, creating an account, or uploading music, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Dusk.

1. What Dusk is

Dusk is a place to listen to, share and publish music, whether it was made with AI tools or by people. Every song is labelled AI-made, AI-assisted or Human-made. Listening is free and does not need an account. Artists who want to publish music need an account. The first 3 songs are free; after that, publishing needs a paid monthly storage plan.

Dusk is run by Woodes Labs. You can reach us at office@woodeslabs.com.

2. Who can use Dusk

You must be at least 13 years old to use Dusk. To buy a plan you must be at least 18, or have the permission of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms for you.

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password private. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

3. Using Dusk fairly

You may listen to music on Dusk for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment.

If you save songs for offline listening, they are kept inside the Dusk app on your device for listening in Dusk only. They are not yours to keep, copy or share, and they are removed if the song is taken down or you remove them.

You may not: download, record or copy the music on Dusk except where an artist clearly allows it; get around the protections on our streams; use bots or scripts to play, like, follow, report or scrape; inflate play counts; harass other people; or use Dusk for anything illegal.

Streams on Dusk carry an inaudible watermark and are fingerprinted, so copies taken from Dusk can be traced.

Comments under songs are public and show your name. Keep them about the music: no abuse, spam, advertising or personal details about anyone. The song's artist can delete comments on their songs, and we can delete any comment or stop an account from commenting.

4. Music you upload

You keep ownership of the music you upload. By uploading, you give Woodes Labs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, process, stream, display and promote your music, its artwork, title and lyrics on Dusk and in material that promotes Dusk, for as long as the music is on Dusk. This permission ends when you delete the track, apart from copies kept for a short time in backups and records we must keep by law.

Everything you upload must follow the Upload rules, which are part of these terms. In short: the music must be yours to publish, it must be labelled honestly as AI-made, AI-assisted or Human-made, the terms of any AI tool you used must let you publish it, everyone who played, wrote or produced a human-made song must have agreed to its release, and it must not copy anyone else's song, recording, lyrics or voice.

You confirm that you have every right needed to upload each track, and you agree to cover Woodes Labs for claims, losses and costs that arise because music you uploaded broke these terms or someone else's rights.

Dusk does not pay royalties or streaming income at this time.

Each song gets a proof-of-release certificate that records when it was uploaded to Dusk and the IDs of its audio fingerprint and watermark. It shows what was uploaded and when. It is not a copyright registration and does not decide who owns a song.

Challenges: Dusk sometimes runs song challenges (such as the Dusk AI Song Challenge). Each has its own rules on its page, which also apply when you enter. Entering is free and never requires a purchase.

5. Review, removal and strikes

New artists' uploads are checked before they appear. We may refuse, hide or remove any track, and suspend or close any account, if we believe these terms or the Upload rules have been broken, or to protect Dusk, its users or other people's rights.

If a report against a track is upheld, the track is removed and the artist gets a strike. After 3 strikes the account can no longer upload.

If you believe a track was removed by mistake, email office@woodeslabs.com with the track name and your explanation.

6. Copyright complaints

Copyright complaints go to one place: office@woodeslabs.com (subject "Copyright"), or the Report button on the track. Tell us: who you are and how to reach you, the work you say was copied and where it is published, the track on Dusk, and a statement that your claim is accurate and that you own the rights or act for the owner.

We act quickly. A complete complaint is looked at within 2 working days, and the track may be hidden while we review it. We remove music that we find infringes and tell the uploader why.

If your track was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can reply with your explanation and any proof that the music is yours (for example, your AI tool's records of making it, or your session files and stems). If we agree, we restore the track and remove the strike.

Accounts that repeatedly upload other people's work are closed: after 3 upheld complaints an account can no longer upload, and we may close it sooner for clear or deliberate copying.

Every upload is also checked automatically against the music already on Dusk, and new artists' uploads are reviewed by a person before they appear.

Knowingly false complaints may lead to your account being closed.

7. Plans and payments

Each account can publish its first 3 songs without a plan, while free spots are available; we may limit or end the free songs at any time for new uploads, without affecting songs already published. Uploading more needs a monthly plan. Current plans and prices are shown on the Plans page. Payments are handled by Flutterwave; your card or bank details go to Flutterwave and never reach Dusk.

A plan lasts 30 days from the day you pay. It does not renew by itself: nothing is charged again unless you choose to pay again. When a plan ends you can no longer upload. Your tracks stay online for 30 days after the plan ends; if the plan has not been renewed by then, we may take the tracks offline, and after 90 days we may delete them to free the space. Keep your own copies of everything you upload.

Changing plans: renewing the same plan adds 30 days to the time you have left. Moving to a bigger plan costs its price minus the unused value of your current plan, and starts a fresh 30 days. Moving to a smaller plan is possible in the last 7 days of your current plan or after it ends; if you are then storing more than the smaller plan allows, your tracks stay online but you cannot upload until you are under the limit. The exact price is always shown before you pay.

All plan payments are final and non-refundable. Money is returned only in the two cases set out in the Refund Policy (a duplicate charge, or a total failure by Dusk to deliver the plan), or where a law that cannot be waived requires it. The Refund Policy is part of these terms.

A plan gives you storage space up to its stated size. We only sell plans while we have the space to honour them, so a plan may show as sold out; that never affects a plan you already hold, and you can always renew it.

Prices may change for future purchases. A change never affects a plan you have already paid for.

Tips: an artist may add a tip link to a payment page they run on another service (such as Flutterwave, Paystack, Selar, PayPal or Ko-fi). A tip is a payment from you to the artist on that service. Dusk does not receive, hold, check or refund tips, is not a party to them, and is not responsible for what the artist does with them. Questions about a tip go to the artist or that payment service.

Sponsored songs: an artist can pay to show one of their live songs in the Sponsored spots on Dusk (at the top of Discover and above the chart) for 3 or 7 days. Sponsored songs are always labelled Sponsored and do not change chart positions or play counts. A limited number of songs are sponsored at once; if every spot is taken, the purchase is not offered until one frees up, and a sponsorship paid for while the song is already sponsored starts when the current one ends. Sponsorship payments are final under the Refund Policy. If a sponsored song is taken down or hidden for breaking these terms, its sponsorship ends with no refund. We may decline or end a sponsorship for a song that breaks these terms.

Artist Fund: we plan to share part of what Dusk earns with artists through an Artist Fund. Until we announce on Dusk that the fund has started, there is no fund, and nothing is owed to anyone or builds up. Once it runs, it is paid at our discretion: we set, and may change or end with 30 days' notice, how much goes into it, how it is split (by eligible listeners, not per play), who is eligible and the minimum payout. A payment from the fund is not a wage, a royalty or a share in Dusk, and does not make you our employee or partner. We may withhold or take back fund payments linked to fake listening, fake or shared accounts, or songs that break these terms. You are responsible for any tax on what you receive.

8. The service is provided as it is

We work to keep Dusk running well, but we do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or that any particular music will stay on it. Music on Dusk is uploaded by artists; we do not endorse it and are not responsible for what it says.

Keep your own copies of everything you upload. Dusk is not a backup service.

If Dusk is unavailable, the only remedy is the one in the Refund Policy. We do not owe compensation for downtime, lost plays, lost income or lost data.

9. Limits on our responsibility

As far as the law allows, Woodes Labs is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profit, lost data, or lost opportunity arising from your use of Dusk. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 10,000 naira if you paid nothing.

Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot legally be removed.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Dusk at any time. To delete your account and your data, email office@woodeslabs.com from the address on your account.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and for important changes we will show a notice on Dusk. Continuing to use Dusk after a change means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Nigeria.
