My teacher told a story from a long time ago
About a Man who had a love that started to grow
He didn’t look for kings or for people in charge
He looked for the hearts that were broken and large
He liked the man who found it real hard to speak
He sat in the dust with the tired and the weak
He even liked the one who did something real bad
He’s the best kind of friend that we’ve ever had
If someone is lonely (I’LL BE THEIR FRIEND)
If someone is crying (I’LL STAY TILL THE END)
If someone is different (I’LL GIVE THEM A TOY)
We’re sharing His love (AND WE’RE SHARING HIS JOY)
What would Jesus do?
He’d probably share His lunch with you!
What would Jesus do?
He’d make a place for the lonely too
He doesn't care if you're messy or small
He just wants to love us, He loves us all
Before I am mean, or I say something new
I just have to ask... What would Jesus do?
He picked a friend who was a "sell-out" and mean
He picked a friend who was messy and not very clean
When His best friend got scared and ran far away
Jesus just waited for a brand new day
He doesn't build walls and He doesn't use stones
He brings us all back to our happy homes
So if someone looks strange or is acting real new
I’ll just remember what He’d want me to do
The one who is lost (HE FINDS THEM)
The one who is hurt (HE MINDS THEM)
The one who is quiet (HE HEARS THEM)
The one who is scared (HE NEARS THEM)
He brings a smile (HE BRINGS A SMILE)
He stays a while (HE STAYS A WHILE)
He likes you, you know
Even if the world thinks you're "unlikely"
What would He do? He’d love you
