It's the moment after the last breath, the instant before the world changes.
The cars are just sitting on the highway.
No one is behind the wheel.
The phones are lit up but nobody is answering.
This quiet is not right.
The air feels charged now, like lightning,
Just waiting to strike.
Every moment feels like a brand new second,
Just waiting for something.
And then the trumpet sounds,
Breaking through the static,
Breaking through the ground.
A beautiful, final echo,
A glorious, sacred sound.
It pulls us out of the shadows,
Into the blazing light,
And we are finally going home,
With all of our might.
I see a friend on the corner,
And they are looking up.
They see the clouds parting now,
And their smile is so bright.
There is a feeling of relief,
A weight lifted from all of us.
This is not an ending.
This is the moment we've waited for.
And then the trumpet sounds,
Breaking through the static,
Breaking through the ground.
A beautiful, final echo,
A glorious, sacred sound.
It pulls us out of the shadows,
Into the blazing light,
And we are finally going home,
With all of our might.
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command,
with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first.
And then the trumpet sounds,
Breaking through the static,
Breaking through the ground.
A beautiful, final echo,
A glorious, sacred sound.
It pulls us out of the shadows,
Into the blazing light,
And we are finally going home,
With all of our might.
Going home...
Finally home...
The sound...
