Speak in Tongues

Lyrics

Suddenly a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind

From Heaven

And it filled the whole house

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit

And they began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance

I felt a fire in my chest

A holy fire a roaring flame

You loosened my tongue and gave me a brand new language

My mind is saying "This is strange"

My spirit says "It’s finally here"

A sound the devil cannot know

A voice that conquers all my fear

I speak in tongues

A flood of heaven starts to flow

I speak in tongues

A holy language fills my soul

I speak in tongues

A fire on my lips

A perfect prayer now starts to flow

And all my spirit gives

I used to try to pray with just my words

I tried to make my feelings known

But then You gave me something more

A language I could not have known

My mind is saying "This is strange"

My spirit says "It’s finally here"

A sound the devil cannot know

A voice that conquers all my fear

I speak in tongues

A flood of heaven starts to flow

I speak in tongues

A holy language fills my soul

I speak in tongues

A fire on my lips

A perfect prayer now starts to flow

And all my spirit gives

This is not for me to understand

It is a gift straight from Your hand

The language of the soul

Making all my broken pieces whole

My heart is full and I am home

My soul is singing with a new language

Hallelujah
