Shepherds' Joy

Lyrics

The chilly night was clear and bright, above the hills of Judea!

The shepherds saw a wondrous sight, banishing all doubt and fear!

The angel chorus filled the air, with news of glory and goodwill!

A holy King is resting there, upon that simple, grassy hill!

Shepherds' Joy! Let the happy voices ring!

Shepherds' Joy! All the news the angels bring!

Run to the manger, run and see, the King of Heaven for you and me!

Hallelujah! Let the glad celebration fly!

They left their flocks and followed fast, their hearts were light and free from gloom.

They knew the promise, built to last, had blossomed in that quiet room.

They saw the Child, they knelt and prayed, the Lord of all beneath the sod!

How perfectly He was displayed, the Incarnation of our God!

No earthly power can compare, to the humble Gift we see.

The greatest love beyond compare, delivered for humanity.

Shepherds' Joy!

Go tell the news to every boy and girl!

Joy to the world!

Run to the manger, run and see!

Praise Him!

Shepherds' Joy!

Go tell the news to every boy and girl!

Shepherds' Joy!

Joy to the world!
