Bethlehem's Light

Lyrics

Where is the star that shone so bright? The hope that banishes the night?

It shines upon the ancient street, where grace and holiness now meet.

Tell us the story, sweet and true! The Word made flesh for me and you!

It rests upon a stable cold, a wonder meant for us to hold!

Bethlehem's Light! Let the glorious rays ascend!

Bethlehem's Light! A joy that shall know no end!

Our God is born! O, hear the happy sound!

Salvation waits upon this holy ground!

The shadows flee where Jesus lies, the Infant King with knowing eyes.

He wakes the heart, He calms the soul, and makes the broken spirit whole.

The ancient city, sleeping deep, awoke to hear the angels sweep!

The greatest Gift the world has known, upon a humble manger throne.

Though kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall, His mercy shall encompass all.

The light He brings cannot be dimmed, the ancient hymn is newly hymned.

Lux Aeterna, Luceat Eis...

Bethlehem! The Lord is here!

Bethlehem's Light! Dispelling fear!

Light of God!
